I have an iPad 2, 32 gb running iOS 5.1.1 and jailbroken using absinthe.
I just wanted to know if it was possible to restore my iPad to factory settings and re-jailbreak with a clean, wiped iPad.

Do you have the SHSH blobs for 5.1.1 for your iPad 2?

If you do have them saved then you'll be able to modify your hosts file and restore to iOS 5.1.1, then re-jailbreak.

When you launch Cydia, does it have anything like this at the top?

Then do you have any idea how long it will be before ios 6 gets jailbroken for A5 devices?
Thanks in advance though. You helped sort out my queries.

    I'm waiting as well :(

I've got an iPad 3 and an iPhone 5, they both keep telling me that they need to be jailbroken! The devs have been pretty quiet. Planetbeing did post on twitter yesterday (or the day before, can't remember) that there aren't that many kernel changes in iOS 6.0.2. So if they are on to something, then by the sounds of things iOS 6.0.2 might be jailbreakable. However, that doesn't mean that it's safe to upgrade until the devs say so. It's hard being sat on the fence...

    Just a quick FYI...
with A5 devices when planning to restore firmware, from 5.x.x to 5.x.x using the current redsn0w tool.... you will obviously require SHSH blobs.... BUT if you have updated your iDevice via OTA you CANNOT restore, you will need to update to 6.x.x.
