Can't say anything about that program as I have never used it, but you don't need to jailbreak to get free tones. Search the forum and you will find a thread on how to do it.

I have used both iPhoneringtonemaker and Audiko.net, and now that I have a mac I use Garage Band, but both the others have worked well for me in the past.

I've been using iRinger for a while now, no issues at all. Very simple, easy to use program.

I don't use any programs to make ringtones? Its just a simple few steps in iTunes and changing the file name and youre done.
The reason people are using apps or software is because ringtones have to be under 30 seconds. Renaming the file extension, only gets you so far.

Now if you have a 30 second clip and you convert it to ACC, then just changing the file extension is all you will need to do. Otherwise you need to trim the length.
