I already have all the ringtones I want. On the other hand, it might be nice not to get so frustrated with each update.
If you haven't hacked your phone, you can use iPhoneRingToneMaker and your ringtones will stay on after the update.

well I really hope they don't make us pay extra money to get ringtones, but its all about money so hopefully they wont make us pay to use songs we have alerady bought off iTunes... But I guess we'll see how they do this.

Is the iPhone RingToneMaker a good app? I was just checking it out.

Also, the article above says Apple will "unveil" the service next wednesday. When will it actually be available?

Talk about a misguided post. Guess who are buying more iPhones, Windows users or Mac users?

I couldn't care less about Apple releasing ringtones. They're just gonna try and charge us for them so who cares, we can do them for free easily and we can choose the part of the song we want.
wouldn't doing so mean voiding your warranty? I personally would much rather pay a buck a ringtone than have a $600 paper-weight should something bad happen.

True

Your attitude and bias are not welcome here. This place is not about idiotic Mac Vs. PC wars.
