I spent most the eighties and early nineties playing music in a rock band and Jani was certainly one of my favorites.

The name wasn't familiar so I had to look up who he was - the former lead singer for Warrant. I used to listen to them in high school. RIP Jani.

Warrant and poison were big in GAP PA where I first lived here in the US. every kid had long hair and that rock star look. Every time I hear one of the two bands it brings back good memories. I loved cherry pie the video :) R.I.P

I've seen them a number of times over the years. The last time I went to see Jani at some bar and he didn't show up. From everything I've read, he had some serious addiction problems. That coupled with the rise and fall must take a toll on a person. One day you are playing arenas and then you find yourself playing in front of a handful of people.

RIP Jani. Good times. I miss those power ballads from big hair bands.

He looked pretty rough a couple of years ago on Celebrity Fit Club on VH1. Sucks to see these guys fall so hard.
