Just upgraded my wife's iPhone 5 to iOS 7 and it now has the two rotating arrows next to the Wifi Signal. I've attached a screenshot.

Can someone tell me what it is?

    That's the syncing indicator.

That's what I thought to. But even when disconnected from the Mac and off of wifi they still keep turning!

In the screen cap it looks like the wifi is still on, but when its off it shouldn't continue to sync.

We had turned it off and back on at that point.

A reboot of the phone did the trick. :)

Thanks to everyone for the help. It's greatly appreciated.
