New Safari Beta Terrible

I thought the new safari beta was going to be very good. I was dead wrong. Every-time I use the web browser it crashes. A message pops up saying their was an error and a button to send error report. I'm so sick of this already and ive had it for a good 1 hour.

I got it on my work laptop (XP), and it works great. I came home and it works great on my MB and iMac. I love it.

I know Drew likes it - anyone else? So far, it hasn't crashed. I installed it on my work laptop (xp) and my MB and iMac. I love it. Very fast, and I like the top hits tab/page.

Anyone else's thoughts?

cover flow is pretty and all, but useless, if you ask me.

maybe it'll be interesting with safari... especially if it's anything like Cooliris.

when you zoom, do images blow up as well?

n/m, found the answer:

Zoom in or out on web content using keyboard shortcuts, Multi-Touch gestures, or the Zoom toolbar button for more comfortable reading. Images and graphics scale up while your text remains razor sharp, keeping the web page layout consistent as you zoom. To add the Zoom button to your toolbar, simply choose Customize toolbar from the View menu and drag the button onto your toolbar.

this may actually tear me away from firefox... in fact, i may actually kill my handbrake encoding just to try it out...

this is the safari update i never thought would come.

yes, cover flow is useless. I like the top sites feature though. And it is very fast.

Is there any way to get rid of the blue bar at the top in the Windows version? They say its to make you feel more "at home" but use Safari to get away from "home"

the coverflow with bookmarks is pretty nice.

i just think it's useless implemented into Finder.

it was one of those things where i was like, i seriously doubt this'll work, but i'll try it anyway.

in FF, go to bookmarks->organize bookmarks.

select all the ones you want to copy over (cmd+a, cmd+c for all of them).

then open the bookmark manager in safari. Select the folder you want to paste them in. cmd+v. The only snag is the names of the bookmarks don't quite make it.

i was quite surprised when it worked.

seems pretty solid so far.

the only issue i have noticed is that while zooming, the text within buttons gets un-centered sometimes.

for everyone that hasn't seen the other thread, my official position is that it's awesome.

it is now my default browser (firefox previously).
