My iPhone used to be recognized as 'iPhone of Matthew' for syncing purposes.
Recently I discovered that the iPhone (or my Mac) has changed this into '*'.
Just the asterisk, nothing further.
Everything works fine, so there is no problem.
Yet I would like to rebaptize my iPhone again with my name. Is this possible at all? And how do I do it? (Not to mention: Why did this happen?).
Thank you for your reply/help.
Matthew

I'm not sure why this happened, but it's easy to change. Just click once on the name of your iPhone in the sidebar in iTunes while it's connected - it should become highlighted in orange (or whatever color you have set your Mac to show when text becomes editable) and then you can type whatever name you want. Press Return/Enter and you're done!

Dear Macgirl,
Thank you for your suggestion. I tried it, and it worked.
If it is so easy to correct, this probably also explains how it happened. Many computer errors have a human cause ...
Kind regards,
Metthew
