Recordmyscreen (tweak) is free though
I never tested that one. I bought DR a couple years ago, so it was free to download again. The developer (Ryan Petrich) is really good about quickly updating his apps when new OS versions come out, so I like to support him by buying his apps.

I'm seeing 2 screen recorders now in App Store but they cost money, and not good feedback. The jailbroken one though, works perfectly.
Read the description and reviews critically. The ones in the App Store don't record the screen.

I saw your video and saw something I liked, when you touch the screen it displays as circles, I also like that you can change the output quality and format. I have to learn more and may buy it. I will also look at the tweak I have now to see if there's options I missed.

Yeah, the free app you referred to might not add those dots. I'm not certain since I've never tested it or looked it up. The dots are really handy when making instructional videos, which is the main purpose of this app.

Not cool. The name suggests that it does. :(
Buyer beware. The App Store is full of apps like that. You have no one but yourself to blame if you don't read the descriptions prior to purchasing them. Apple doesn't allow this feature - you have to jailbreak.

Yes, and that's why I need this. The free one has an option to record audio too.

Is there a difference in "Display Recorder" and "RecordMyScreen"? And why does Apple not allow screen recording apps?

I just installed and tested it. Very similar to DisplayRecorder. There's no way to disable "dots," though.
I use ifile to navigate to var/mobile/documents then save the video to the camera roll from there. I'm not able to see the dots on my recordings.

Ok, I purchased Display recorder but it's crashing my phone into safe mode every time I try to record.

I even uninstalled the other app first. I must have something else installed interfering with it. That sucks because I really could use "the dots"
What other apps/tweaks do you have installed? I might be able to help you narrow down the suspects.

I'd really appreciate it, here's screenshots of all my tweaks:
