SDK stands for Software Development Kit. It is what Apple will be releasing to developers like Adobe and Google late this month. It will allow them to develop official third-party applications for the iPhone.

It's going to open the iPhone architecture for third-party developers to write programs for the iPhone. I'm sure that a lot of these new programs will not be free, but I would think that quality control would be a bit better.

I wouldn't go that far, im sure the customizability of the homescreen and such will not be there. But we shall see what all it has to offer in a few weeks.

Minus Customize and SummerBoard, yes. Any application that is available through can be developed for the SDK.

Why wouldn't programs like Customize and Summberboard become available?
They might, but I doubt it. Apple doesn't want us customizing our phone. For instance, they wouldn't want us to have a stripper inside of our battery or switch or AT&T carrier logo to HACK&T.

My iPhone is jailbroken, as of now. I'll Restore it come the SDK; I prefer apps over customization.

i haven't jailbroken yet. I'm going to see what kind of offerings we have as far as official 3rd party apps. If nothing really intrigues me, then I'll jailbreak.
