Whoops!

I set a passcode on my phone and now I can't remember what I set it to.

Is there any way to reset it? Short of going to Apple or restoring?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have not tried it but according to the "The iPhone Book", by Scott Kelby and Terry White,....

"if you forget your password, you can unlock your iPhone and assign a new password by just syncing your iPhone to your computer (not any computer--your computer)."

I hope this works for you.

From what I've heard, it won't work.

When you connect your phone to a computer, the computer will tell you that a passcode is currently set and needs to be unlocked before the iPhone can be synced or restored. I'm not positive, but there was another thread about this and the computer wouldn't let the guy sync.

I hope I get to eat my words, though. Good luck.

I ended up needing to have Apple remove the passcode.

MacMan appears to be correct. Syncing does not seem to solve the problem.

I did as instructed, and, actually, the phone disappeared immediately in iTunes, UNTIL I entered the passcode and then resynced.

Anyway, there was no indication of any way to remove or re-set the passcode and the passcode was still intact.

(I entered a new passcode after going to Apple to test this theory.)

Thanks for the help, everyone; unfortunately this solve doesn't appear to work.
