Anyone found the correct way to do this? If so, mind telling me how?

Hotmail was never supported I believe. I think they used to offer a POP service, but that's long gone. They have email forwarding, but only to @hotmail and @live addresses, which is a little useless.

There are some alternatives to paying:

Izymail (free for a subscription period of 20 days)
Momail (free, kind've a pain to setup, but I eventually got it to work)

There's a free app in the app store called pageonce, where you can keep track of all kinds of accounts (banking, ebay, electric company), and e-mail. I have my hotmail account set up in it and check it on my iPhone through there.

I just forward my hotmail to my Gmail account.

I have it working but I think that's because I pay them an annual subscription fee. Note that it's not a full two-way sync implementation. Only pulls down new emails. Deletes on device do not get propogated up.

How do you do that? I could have sworn I have Hotmail Plus or whatever, but I can't figure out how to forward my email.

Go to your hotmail page, go options on the right upper part of your page, then manage your account. You should see, forward mail to another email account. Put in the email addy and you're done.
