Should I get the Applecare plan?

Happy 2008 to everyone!

Well, I've had my iPhone since early August, and even though I'm having no problems with the phone, I've considered getting the Applecare plan.

I've still got my $100 Apple store credit from the whole price drop debacle, and thought I could use it to get that along with some other stuff.

Does anyone have any opinion on whether or not it'd be worth getting the Applecare plan?

Thanks in advance!

Scott

My advice would be to wait until just a few days before your standard manufacturer's warranty ends. If there is a second generation iPhone out by that time, make the decision whether or not you want/need that device. Assuming there is no iPhone II by that point, Applecare might not be a bad idea if you want to keep your phone for another year.

Ah, so I'm eligible for the Applecare plan up to 1 year from date of purchase? Cool - thanks!

Yes, precisely. You can purchase Applecare anytime during the one-year warranty. No need to get it day 1 or day 363 :)
