Hi all, my first post here.

I've been shopping for a new phone and am interested in the iPhone.

being so close to next year, am I just better off waiting until the second gen model?

It's in our nature to always hold out for the next best thing. But did you ever think about how many things you may have missed out on because you were always waiting for the next?

Buy it now, enjoy it now!

Get the phone now. The version 2 is just wishful thinking. Apple has not said anything, so who knows when it will come out.

That's right. It could be months before 2 comes out. You will get too much enjoyment out the phone to wait that long.

They actually have and AT&T CEO confirmed a 3G iPhone will be available sometime in 08'. I am positive this is true.

I believe you are right, but 3G is very spotty through out the country. You will need to check with ATT in the area you live in to see how good it is.

It is full 5 bar coverage everywhere in my city. I know because I've used plenty of 3G phones around here. Full bars all day!:laugh2: Not saying you shoud hold out for V2 as it might not come out for 6 months.

^^Just because you have full signal doesn't mean you have 3G access. I had a Blackjack for a while and even though I usually had full reception I was almost always on Edge and never using 3G, it was quite unfortunate (especially since it was touted as a 3G phone). I would personally say buy the phone and be happy with it. If you're too disappointed with the purchase you will be able to resell it for not THAT big of a loss and just wait for the v2. I'm thinking 3G and 16GB memory will be the two big added features. Then again, it could all just be wishful thinking.

I for one am waiting.

I don't have to buy a new car the first year it comes out, and the same feelings for tech devices.

Haha, in THAT case, that's very fortunate for you. I got it occasionally like I said, but it was spotty at best. :laugh2:
