Signature, or not?

I'm not sure if this is related to the OS, or merely to having an email account on your smartphone. But, I notice a lot of people have the default signature on for email, "Sent from my...".

Curious, why do YOU, if you do, use it?

When smartphones went on sale waaayyy back in the day, I understood the need to advise someone that they were being sent an email from a mobile device, etc. Now that smartphones are more common place, and thus probably the first place an email is being sent from, is the "Sent from me...", needed? Is it more about 'marketing' and advertising now?

Your thoughts...

I don't have it because jobs and other people don't really want to see that.

most mobile email clients put this in.

When I see it, I either think of the person as lazy or very non-tech savvy. There should either be no signature, or a useful signature (phone number, ...)

I've seen it used to allow for attachment and formatting limitations. That way I know why someone didn't use their computer.

Some don't like the use of it. I find some fun, creative, funny, and otherwise entertaining. I use one on my emails, and on TapaTalk. But not on the eiC app. I'm on TapaTalk now.

I like this.

What I don't like is the default, no thought, nocare:

"sent from my iPhone"
"sent from Good"
"sent from my iPad"
"sent from my Blackberry"

And your signature in this App is irritating after having read so many of your posts.:ROFLMAO:
Well, you're certainly entitled to your opinions. And, after having read so many of your posts, I try to avoid them. :ROFLMAO:

That signature is on by default. It's a marketing gimmick and is common on all smartphones these days. I changed mine to simply give my contact information - the info you'd see on a business card.

I don't use sigs in email. The default is for free advertising.
