Ok, when you go to your reminders app, there's an option for "Tasks" and there's also one with my name. The one with my name is the only one that will give you the option to set a reminders based on leaving or arriving at a location, the tasks section won't let you do this. So how do you get Siri to know the difference? When I ask Siri to set a reminder for when I arrive at work, she puts it under the tasks section which doesn't utilize the "geo fence" feature, what am I missing here, anyone else notice this, just try it.

Weird, i don't have an option for tasks, but Siri creates the geo fence when i use the key words "arrive" or "leave",
Can you show a screenshot of tasks?

Maybe tasks were sync'd from outlook?

Try logging in at iCloud.com and seeing if you can turn them off there, or with the iCloud control panel but you will have to turn off the calendar too, if you don't use iCloud you shoul be able to turn them off in iTunes.
