As Bennyboy said, it's most likely the camera lens rattle that is associates with the camera lens upgrade introduced with the 4S.
You can confirm this by lightly tapping w/fingertips on the back near the top.
It's not a defect.....
You're right, not the 4 but since the 4s.

See, that's unfortunate that it rattles. I'm sure Apple has gotten many complaints about this, or just being afraid that their iPhone is messed up.
I would rather hear the rattle sound and take the pictures I take with my iPhone. You can't find a batter camera on a smartphone like this one.

Very true. Since you mentioned the camera and pictures, I know this is off topic, but why does it flip the photo after you take it? Is there a setting for it to not do that? For example, I take a photo of myself, then it changes the direction of my face in photo.

Well you can, the Nokia 808, Nokia N8 have better cameras.. But I used to have an N8 and could never go back there. Great camera though

My 4 had a slight rattle, my 5 does not. There are so many small components in the phone that figured one of them was slightly loose. Never affected the phone and it didn't bother me at all. It was a non issue for me...

The rattle is the weight that spins to made the iPhone vibrate.

As long as it doesn't sound like the one in the video, then you're fine.
