I've noticed that too, that sometimes it shows it and other times it doesn't. Other than that, no, I don't know if there is a way to find that out for each text you want to log...seems to be completley random?

it does that because say you start a conversation at 6:21, and you keep talking until 6:40 nonstop, then start talking again at 6:59, it will display the time and date. if the SMS app has been out of use or no messages received or sent (within the conversation) for 5 mintues that's what it does.

I do not like that system for time stamping...seems like there should be options for that...but at least someone figured it out and I no longer think my iPhone just picks random times to show me
