Mght not be an actual 'Fix' as I have never heard of this happening before, but go into Settings.app, go to General and then to Spotlight Search (SETTINGS >> GENERAL >> SPOTLIGHT SEARCH) and have a look at the order and what is selected to be searchable. Make sure everything you want on is on and make sure they are ordered how you want?

Also, are you jailbroken? I assume you haven't got any tweaks installed which hook into spotlight search screen?

Its very buggy and intermittent. Been searching for a solution for days to no avail. Have done full restore and reset. Nothing fixes it.

What phones do you guys have? When I was on iOS8 with iPhone 6+ 128gb of RAM, I wasn't able to do any spotlight, because of poor RAM.

16/64/128 GB is the storage capacity. The RAM is 1 GB on the 6/6+ and 2 GB on the 6s/6s+.

My Spotlight search list shows quite a few apps. Maybe one of your apps is misbehaving.
YMMV
