If you're a Starbucks junkie like me the Starbucks mobile app is a must-have. I updated it today via App Store and when I opened the new version it asked if I wanted to add it to Passbook. I clicked "yes" and it created a fully functioning pass, complete with updated balance.

Previously I created one manually via PassSource.com and while it worked, it never updated my balance. 

Yes! I recently discovered this too. I downloaded and downloaded the Passbook version. Now I need somebody to try it on this thread and let me know how it works. ;)

Maybe the guide I'm posting today on the blog will work. ;)

This passbook is a waste IMO.

    It's not user friendly

Passbook isn't intuitive at all, but I think it will grow into a nice app that I use regularly. Near field would have been nice...

I upgraded my wife's iPad to iOS 6 and there is no PaaBook app. What did I do wrong?

Nothing. Passbook is iPhone and iPod touch only.

I've already used it at my local Starbucks and it works like a charm. No problems at all. Like Chris I also love Starbuck's blueberry scones.

Imagine wiping out an iPad to pay. Would be a little bulky

You should've seen the look I got when I used my Nexus 7 at McDonald's and 7-11 bumping my tablet to the paypass terminal.

Starbucks has incorporated the Rewards Postcards directly into your Starbucks app. You don't get any alert but when you use the stand-alone app to pay it will deduct a free drink just like if you handed them a Rewards Postcard. The trick is you have to tell them you think you have a Reward card on your account. They have to key something into the register to check. Unfortunately the Passbook app doesn't use Rewards yet so for now I'm back to the stand-along Starbucks app to pay for my addiction.

I LOVE me some starbucks, but I feel that their process of mailing out "free drinks" for every 15 purchases is flawed. Currently, I am still waiting on about 4 free drinks in the mail. What they SHOULD do is credit my account balance immediately after the 15 purchases. Fortunately, I'm being told that they are doing this.
