I have tried three different cables, outlets, charging "cubes" with my iPod classic - none will charge the iPod. But the second I use any of the aforementioned cables in my windows PC, the iPod charges just fine...Any ideas?

Is it USB or Firewire? If USB, are the charging cubes of the 5W (1A) variety, or 10W (the one that comes with an iPad)? The classic is not compatible with the 10W charger.

I think the iPod classic only has USB. Do any I devices have a FireWire port ?

The classics still charge over Firewire, but don't sync. Same with the first-gen iPhone and iPod touch, as well as the nanos up to the 3rd gen. Everything newer (2nd gen iPod touch, 4th gen nano, iPhone 3g) no longer has Firewire charging pins.

That's why I love this place! Learn something new every day!
Again, thanks for the info.
