    Hi,
I upgraded to iOS 9 and am now using iOS 9.1
When some text notifications come through, they display the name (if they're in my contacts) but some, even if they're in my contacts, just come up as a telephone number.
When I open the message app they're there in the correct conversation.
Anyone else having this problem and any idea what can be done to rectify it please?

This is a known iOS 9 bug and it appears that Apple hasn't fixed it yet.

Here are a couple of suggestions that resolved it for some people.
    1. Settings > Messages > SMS/MMS > MMS > Toggle it off and then right back on.

If that doesn't work, try this:
    2. Delete your texting threads for the people whose messages came through without a contact name. Notifications for their subsequent messages should have their names.

Thanks Europa, I've tried the 1st method just awaiting a text from the one person I can remember who came up as a number!
