I listened to the whole conference.

He didn't say anything about the camera being better (higher megapixels).
So it has the same camera which most of you have said is crappy quality.
The flush earphone jack is cool but we all expected that.
The screen is the same. No front mounted camera.
No 32gig version.
The phone is gorgeous but most of us cover it up with a case anyway.
3G and GPS are really the only big improvements and most other phones had them for months.

One thing is for sure though, at the $199 and $299 price, its an awesome phone.

Are those of you that paid $500 for the original mad though?

I am not not mad. I will probably not get one with initial release. As you stated the 3g is the only major change, which is nice but not critical for me, but its nice knowing once I do decide to go get it that price tag is very easy to handle. Better news is the items they are putting in for businesss support, maybe I won't have to buy my next one

They didn't say if ATT is going to charge extra for gps. I would assume they would, but ?
There is no reason whatsoever that AT&T should charge for GPS support. The GPS is built into the phone, and the data required to load the maps would be part of the data we already have. I would be really POd if they did try to charge for this. But with the way Apple made the data plan not cost a leg in addition to the arm, I am pretty confident we won't see any additional pricing.

I don't think they would charge for GPS as they don't run those satellites. But I could see them charging more for 3G... we'll just have to wait and see.

The Apple Store is back up with some specs and it does say that the camera will remain to be 2 mp

Waiting?

Could Apple be waiting for whatever reason to announce other new specs on the phone such as a better camera or even video?

the on thing they did not tell you about the GPS is that it still uses the net to get its maps. this could be faster with 3G yet in those locations where you only have EDGE this could be a problem. The fact of the mater is that this will eat up more of your battery than a standard GPS unit. So If anyone wants to create an native App for the iPhone that uses maps stored in the phone itself and not the web. Let me have a free copy because I wrote it first. If you are feeling extra gen. yoou can give me a percent:laugh2: Ya right. Anyways I said it first.
