I was going to rearrange my icons today and i saw the most peculiar thing.

Look at this.

if you notice, there are Xs over applications.

Just for the hell of it, i selected something random, and clicked the X on it.

this popped up.

and then i clicked Delete, and it was busy deleting...

after about two minutes, it resprung.

anyone else know of this?

and

is this at all related to Kate?

I'm doing fine for now...

actually

thats a total lie.

my SMS app is unbearably slow now,

and when i uninstalled an app like that, until i hard rebooted, my apps would all crash immediately.

Yes, that is a feature of Kate. There are actually several very useful features to it, however it should unfortunately be removed completely.

That method of uninstalling would be very helpful when I need to uninstall something but don't want to wait 10 minutes for my sources to refresh.

or you could just engage Airplane mode, and get into installer, it'll go through within a quarter of a minute.
