You could send it via SMS. Bam! Text message transferred...

But seriously, you could make a full backup of the source phone using iTunes. Then plug in the destination phone and restore from that backup. You will get ALL text messages transferred, not a single text message of your choosing...

I have backed my new iPhone up already. Will I lose the date I have on my iPhone to transfer the text message. I know I could have forwarded the text to myself but that wasn't the purpose

You will get ALL text messages transferred, not a single text message of your choosing...

You should back up the OLD phone with the messages you want to keep to your computer using iTunes. THEN plug in the new phone and restore from the backup you made of the old phone. Any date and timestamps will be transferred along with the actual messages.

Use the email, you can use the email to upload the text message from one iPhone to your email inbox, then, download them from another iPhone, do you understand?
