Hi,

I'll be traveling to Singapore and India in Dec and wanted to ask you travelers out there the best way to use the iPhone without going bankrupt.

I don't anticipate using internet on the phone, but will need to use my tel no and iPhone to make/receive calls.

I don't want to get stuck with $5000 bills, so what's the best way to use iPhone w/o EDGE and other stuff that will rack up my bill? Can I just cancel EDGE and use iPhone for tel purposes or do I need to take out my SIM and just use it as an iPod/wi-fi device?

Can I take out my SIM from iPhone and put it on my Treo and use that for calling or will my SIM not work on it? i just need to have my US cell number and tel with me and don't care much about taking iPhone with me there?

Any help will be appreciated...thanks!
