I think you are going to have to use some software like copytrans to do it. Do a search on the forum, 'THIS copytrans', no quotes of course and you will find discussion on third party software for the PC that will do this. You don't have to be jail broken to use it. I bought copytrans and it works well, www.copytrans.net

You might need to download the latest version of iTunes which has the latest iPhone drivers. Try also using a different USB port. If you have the latest version of iTunes then re download iTunes as your version may be corrupt. You should not have to purchase ANY software to get your photo's off of the iPhone. Are you using a Mac or PC? Mark

P.S. Another thing you might want to try is rebooting your computer while the iPhone is still hooked up via USB. Sometimes a fresh boot will find your iPhone as the drivers are restarted. Try this method first....Mark

Right-click the device in the Device Manager that has the exclamation mark and uninstall the driver. Then unplug the iPhone and plug it back in. That should do well for getting the phone to show up.

Plugin your iPhone to the computer without iTunes running
1. Wait for a popup asking you what you want to do with the device

2. Select “View Content”

3. Find your photos through the folders that are displayed

4.Copy in Windows as usual
