Turn your iPad into a Touch Bar for your older Mac

You’ll need to get the "app-tly" named TouchBarDemoApp from the project’s GitHub page (you’ll find the link at the source article), and your Mac must be running macOS Sierra 10.12.1 build 16B2657.

It’s unclear if this whole thing works with non-iPad iOS devices, the source article advises, but those other devices' smaller sizes will make that a moot point.

You can also have the Touch Bar display on your Mac’s screen (sans iPad), but then it wouldn’t be much of a Touch Bar, would it? It’d be more of a “Point-and-Click Bar.” It would also be, quite possibly, more trouble than it’s worth.

It’s almost unnecessary to point this out, but this is more of a proof-of-concept than a permanent solution. The article was clear that the purpose of this project is more to help you form an opinion about the Touch Bar than anything else, but my opinion has already been formed. :)
