please help!

I was trying to restore to update, since I'm modded. Now I'm stuck in recovery mode and all I get is error -48. I tried downloading the restore files, but it just opens iTunes when I open it. iTunes restore won't work at all.

Anyone know what I"m doing wrong?

If you don't get an error just leave it for awhile.

hi please help me on my iPhone i am trying to restore my iPhone 4 im using windows 7 and my restoration freezes when its almost the end please help me on this :(
its been 3 hours now :(
Try updating iTunes, restarting the computer, temporarily disabling your antivirus software and using a different USB port and cable. If that doesn't work, please post the part of the restore where it hangs and any iTunes error codes you receive.
still not working i did everything
it hangs at about 75% and i receive no error no mesg it just freezes :(
At what point does it hang? Verifying with Apple, verifying restore, etc. Did you ever install WiFi Sync on this computer? What version of iTunes do you have? Are you trying to restore to 6.0?

I edited your thread title for clarification. I can provide more help if you answer all of my questions.

Okay, you'll need to download the firmware file again. Was the phone working fine before you tried to update/restore?

How many more threads are you going to create on this? I've seen 3 now.
Maybe if you stuck to ONE thread you can get help, but bouncing all around may get you 'bounced'....

So the phone is locked to Optus?

Do you have access to another computer?

How was the phone unlocked (iPad baseband and ultrasn0w, eBay unlock, done by your carrier)? This is important because some of the unlocking methods can cause restore problems.
