Okay. So my sister's boyfriend gave me his old iPhone 3GS. It is AT&T. I have Sprint. I've read all over the internet that you can't switch carriers between AT&T and Sprint and that you can switch carriers between AT&T and Sprint.

I want to know these things:
    1) Can I make the switch
    and if I can
    2) How do I do it & how would I go about the SIM card deal

I don't like the iPhone 4 design so I'm really hoping that I can get this one to work. Please help! Thank you!

Don't think it can be done they are different system types and the gs was built only for AT&T.

Incompatible networks. AT&T uses GSM and Sprint uses CDMA.

Think it would be a waste of time but it is your time to waste.

Okay suppose I bought one unlocked from eBay or something, would that work? Or is that just a scam?

No unlocking would not help you, these are different carrier types so an AT&T phone won't work on sprint.
