i'm planning a trip to europe and would really like to unlock my iPhone so i can put in a europe SIM. now, i have a phone that i bought on opening day and have done every single update as soon as it came out and have never jailbroken it or anything else.

is there a tutorial that someone can point me to that allows me to unlock the sim (ANYSIM presumably) where i do not have to downgrade from 1.1.3?

and if it is not possible please let me know as well.

thanks kindly.

anyone? BUMP. I know there is a search button, but quite frankly there are several techniques but i can't figure out if you need to revert/downgrade in order to unlock for any sim? Is there a way to do this straight from 1.1.3 (a virgin phone).

is it achievable?

yes.

is it worth the 3 hours of constant work and worry?

no.

just use another unlocked phone.. Im an unlocker, but i will tell you straight away - it is simply not worth it.

I mean you will have to downgrade to 1.1.1,

use iPhuc to boot

jailbreak

use iPhuc to boot again

downgrade baseband,

use iPhuc to boot YET AGAIN

restore to 1.1.1,

jailbreak again,

and unlock.

but it is EXTREMELY OBNOXIOUS.

but if you REALLY want to do it -

get on AIM and IM thenewmrbobefore4.

have fun
