Verizon is now activating iPhones that were originally sold for use on other carriers...as long as they're SIM unlocked.

To check your device for use on Verizon go here:
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/nso/enterDeviceId.do?&&&zipRdr=y&zipRdr=y

Check device for use on Verizon and follow the directions to check if an iPhone will work on Verizon's network or not. They're also doing it on UNLOCKED Nexus 6 Android devices.

I always assumed this was the very definition of "unlocking" a phone… that any carrier could and would activate it.

I guess I've been wrong this whole time! Learn something new every day.
