No, why would anyone bother when you can upgrade your unlocked iPhone to v1.1.1 like the rest of us unlockers :D

Before you ask, yes i got my phone originally and it was v1.02 and unlocked. I have since re-virginized and upgraded the phone to v1.1.1 and fully unlocked/jailbroken :D

I'd suggest upgrading as v1.1.1 is a big improvement over v1.02

Right then ;), here are the instructions to virginize.....

1) Make sure that you have your Autolock set to NEVER before starting (Settings, General, Autolock)

2) Open installer and choose the sources tab

3) On the top right hit edit then on the top left hit add

4) Enter http://i.unlock.no and then click ok let the phone refresh the sources

5) Now choose the Unlocking Tools folder and the install tab

6) Choose "The Virginizer (0.3.x) - This should only be chosen if you are on v1.02.

NOTE : If you are on v1.1.1 and want to virginize then choose "The Virginizer (04.x)

7) Now let file file download and run.

8) Once it has completed (it can take about 10-15 minutes). After it has completed restart the phone and you should get the message asking for the correct sim.

9) You're phone's baseband is now virginized and back to it's original state

thanks, this is helpful!
after i do this, i have to upgrade through iTunes?
the standard procedure to unlock the 1.1.1 will work then?
(i mean, after the virginize process, the procedure is the same as if
the phone was a new one with v1.1.1?)
sorry for the many questions, but i wanna be sure not to screw my phone just to have a video out:)

Yeah, once it's virginized just get the phone into DFU (aka restore mode) mode and choose restore if you go to v1.1.1 (Make sure u hold alt on mac then click restore or shift on windows and click restore)

then choose the v1.1.1 firmware file and let it restore :D
