Go into /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences and get the file that readscom.apple.springboard.plist.

Once you have it use this site or whatever you use to change binary text into plain text. Then edit the file part where it says:

<key>SBAutoDimTime</key>
<integer>##</integer>

The red part means that there will be numbers or a negative number in that spot. Change it to however long it want ti to take to dim your screen. As in, if I don't press anything it will dim in 20 seconds - if I put 20 there.

thanks for the info, but extendedpreferences via installer does this and more, plus it give you a UI for all of it
