What do you mean? It just started happening last week and we have no idea how to fix it.

This is definitely happening to her phone. It's an iPhone 4S all up to date on iOS 6.01.

Could you please give me the code you used to do that? And any other text formatting codes (aside from those in the toolbar) you may know of? I tried to use superscripts the other day with [sup]1[/sup] and it did nothing, despite having been listed as a BBcode on some website I looked up....

This issue came up before, and wasn't resolved... I'll hunt around the web and see if anything can be found.

Oh, and by the way,....

As I said above, I will hunt around the 'net and see if I can find anything to help you out.

I understand your frustration with the thread getting hijacked, and I apologize as I'm to blame for that. I recently started a thread about difficulty taking pictures with my iPhone and it was completely and savagely derailed, including by someone claiming to be a manager here... Nap.. Na-something, I can't remember his name at this point. But it's not important. :D

I did some digging and the only two or three references to this issue suggest a damaged screen that was replaced, and incorrectly installed during replacement.

However, someone said the same thing happened to them and their screen was -not- replaced.

This one's an old thread, from back in 2008, so the problem, although it seems to be isolated, may not be new.

Man that is strange! Never seen that before, what a trip!

I agree a restore as new will probably fix the issue.

If it doesn't, then I'd try sprinkling some Holy Water on it..

macaram, are you sure your friend isn't pranking you? Have you seen the phone yourself? I'm just asking the question to try to cover all possible bases. No offense intended.

I've seen this once before in a forum or blog somewhere. But it was only after a new screen was installed. I don't recall the solution, however, I think it has something to do with the screen's connection to the phone's internal parts.

I agree with Target.

At the same time, I'd have to literally hold the device in my hand and check it for myself. Just saying ;)
