of jailbreaking a 3g iPhone

I had my v1 jailbroken back in the day but now with the appstore in place what's the point?

You can theme... Don't know if you themed your phone much, but that's something you can't do stock...

1. Theming
2. Running processes and apps in the background (like, for Pandora or IM'ing)
3. Easy access to system toggles (Wifi, 3G, Edge, Brightness, Location, etc...) via SBsettings
4. Bright flashlight.

These are the only reasons I see to jailbreak anymore. Know that it will make your phone slower. It's barely worth it to me.

How do you run Pandora in the background?

LOL, this actually made me laugh out loud and everyone in the room just turned and stared at me!:D

Seriously though, I jailbreak to theme, have video, and I can't live without the Catagories app, that alone is worth it to me.

Yeah tethering and categories are also pretty huge. I put Categories into the same, um, category as "theming" really.

Personally, I think catagories is in a category all by itself :).

For me it's about the themes.

I can tether with NetShare thankfully. Actually, my 3G is still non-jailbroken since I got it replaced. I guess I should get on that.

Video recording apps. I would stop jailbreaking if I could get one in the app store, though.

Damnit I knew I was forgetting something else. I guess jailbreaking is still pretty important.

are there still any emulators out there? NES, SNES, etc... That's something that'll never be in the appstore.

Now that I have an iPhone again I guess it is time to venture outside of the off topic section and find how to jailbreak etc.

Not neccessarily...Go here. http://www.quickpwn.com/2008/11/quic...d-windows.html

Press the main link to download the quikpwn file. It will take you to zshare. Press to download and when windows gives you the SAVE or RUN option, run it instead of saving it to your desktop.. Good luck.
