Merry Christmas, everyone at eiC! What Christmas gifts did you get?

I got 8 GB RAM to add to my iMac, a 9900 mAH external battery (iPhone charger), an Element iPhone case, an iTunes gift card and money to go towards a 2012 MBP in the Spring.

8Gb RAM that should give you a noticeable speed increase on your machine. 4Gb just doesn't cut it anymore ;)

I'm still waiting to open my presents...

Yeah, I left the original 4 GB in so there is 12 now. I do notice a difference. The boot time is under a minute and PS opens in one second. :)

Do you use SSD? I recently purchased a FitPC to run as a server so I can automate a few things at home. Works great with my ATV2 as well, I installed iTunes on Windows Server 2003 and enabled Home Sharing. Anyways... I've got a 30Gb internal SSD and a 1Tb external HD. With an SSD everything loads pretty much instantaneously. I've been thinking of ripping the optical drive out of my MBP for months now, I rarely use it so I'm probably going to replace it with an SSD.

No, it's a 1 TB HDD. I'll probably get a Mac Pro with an SSD next time I upgrade.

PS takes the longest of everything I have to load. Even Final Cut X loads faster.

I got 21.5" iMac (2.7GHz) when I first came home from school like a week ago. This thing is gonna be a beast for writing lab reports. I also got a pair of sneakers I've been wanting, NHL GameCenter Live (already got around being "blacked out" ;)), a ton of Pens stuff, and a crystal (aka SPARKLY!) Incase slider.

Best of all... no work/school until Jan. 4th.

Happy Holidays!

I have the same sparkly Incase slider! It's so slick though I'm afraid I'm going to drop it haha.
