It's $300 off, so it's $399.99 from $699.99. Should I get it? My mom won't let me get it because windows 8 is right around the corner. Should I wait or get it? Specs are amazing on this thing! I'm really on the fence.

PS- How mcuh would an eMachines desktop computer sell for that has a 2GHz processor, with 0.99GB of RAM and a 143GB HDD with monitor included.

Doesn't sound like a bad deal. But I wouldn't wait just for windows 8... Kind of like waiting for the newest iPhone, there is ways one just around the corner ;-)

The old PC... $100 give or take a few $$& or a nice donation to a shelter or family who needs some type of computer.

Anyway yes it is a deal but deals will always be around.......this woukd not be what I would choose. To big for one and I do not like those processors. I have had no need for Blue Ray.

Yes I'd make sure my computer is as clean as a whistle. And why no love for the processor? 1.9GHz with a Max turbo speed of 2.5

That looks like a great deal. The specifications are very good considering the price. Go for it!

By the way, you don't have to Windows 8 because you can just purchase it when it comes out if you want. OS is easily upgrade-able.

Good luck.

I honestly have no idea, but Microsoft Windows has always been very pricey. I have been using Windows 8 consumer preview for a while now and I cannot say it's much better than Windows 7. I'd actually prefer it over Windows 7 on a tablet computer rather than a desktop or laptop computer. Windows 7 is perfect.

Not for me. It's as easy as inserting the installation disc and clicking upgrade. I am sure it is going to be expensive, though, just like all the previous versions of Windows, especially Vista and 7.

Probably $100 - 120 US funds fir the upgrade. Depending on if there are different versions of Win8.

To be honest, the only difference to me is the Start screen (or whatever it is called), which is going to be awesome for tablet computers as it resembles the Windows Phone 7's homescreen. That's in addition to the full screen applications like Mail and, of course, Internet Explorer. I believe that screen is called Metro-screen but I am not sure.
