First of all, let me start by saying that the reason I've never used Mail / iCal / AddressBook is because I've always found it ridiculous that I needed to have 3 apps open to do things that one app should be able to do. So even though I'm hard-core all-things-Mac, I just never got into using those apps.

I have two Gmail accounts that I check with 5 calendars between them, plus I have about 7 or 8 pop accounts with domains I host or do work for that I check.

I used Entourage for years, and it was great. When Outlook came out, I switched to that, and it wasn't horrible. I was able to do all the syncing between my Gmail family calendars and wasn't too buggy.

Then I tried Sparrow for a while, but needed other accounts than my Gmail, and lately have used PostBox for about 6 months. No real complaints, just doesn't feel seamless with the calendar add-on connecting to my Gmail calendars.

    What's everyone else use?

I use the native Mail app. I do sometimes use Entourage as well.

Sparrow would/could be great but it's quite limited at the moment.

Native client. But I am looking for something that works better with my Hotmail account.

I use the native to sync with my ymail account even though its horrible at fetching the latest without usually having to manually sync. Any ideas if that's the norm? I have outlook express installed as well but I stopped using it. Never been a fan of the interface.

Outlook (PC version running on Parallels). :)

I am considering migrating to Mac version. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

I used Entourage on the mac for years, and always liked it very much, but had an eye to using Outlook for the mac once it became available - assuming that it was going to be a little more robust, a little more in line with the full fledged windows version. I switched when they did away with Entourage, and was pretty happy with Outlook. The most recent update I used was in the 2011 package. I wasn't thrilled with the way that it was difficult to sync my calendars with google calendars. I mean the system works, but just seemed buggy to me.

I use multiple email accounts, and most of them are pop3; I haven't made the switch to using IMAP full time. I think one of the biggest annoyances with Outlook was that it couldn't auto-identify which email account I was reading, and replying from, so many times an email to one account was 'answered' from another. Not a huge problem, but annoying (to me).

So I branched out and tried Sparrow (but I have non-gmail accounts), Mail, Postbox and Thunderbird. As of now, I'm still using Postbox and it's not back. There are a few quirks and things I'd like to see changed.

Ultimately, it boils down to finding the particular email app that has the most features you need/want/use on a daily basis. I've found that there's none of them that have all - but most of them have most. (that seems confusing as I re-read it.)
