This is a spinoff of my post in the Let's ask a question to the next person thread.

I thought it would be fun to hear everyone's Dream Band instead of just the first person to answer my question in that thread.

So you're putting together a dream band. You get to pick the drummer, bass player, lead and rhythm guitarists, vocalist, and a keyboard player if you want. A minimum of a three piece band and no two members can be from the same real life band.

Going for living people with my list...

Drums: Billy Martin
Bass: Jessie Murphy (the first Brazilian Girls album is pure brilliance)
Lead Guitar: Jack White
Rhythm Guitar: Tom Morello
Vocalist: Why ruin a sick band like that with words?
Good point, OP edited.

Oh man, I haven't heard Medeski Martin & Wood in almost 20 years! Saw them live a few times in the early 90's at Liberty Lunch in Austin Texas. Truly a Sick Combo!

Drums: Neil Peart
Bass: Geezer Butler ( couldn't have Geddy Lee, since I picked Neil on drums)
Lead Guitar: Joe Satriani
Rhythm Guitar: Carlos Santana
(Carlos & Sach can switch back and forth if they like)
Vocals: Ronnie James Dio

Wow! That is pretty much the perfect band. Randy Rhoads and John Bonham are couple of late musicians who also would have been great for this dream band, and Jeff Beck would be a good alternate. Sorry for deviating from the rules, Kadelic

I had a hard time deciding on mine but I think I finally settled on a lineup. I did have to use a couple of names already mentioned.

Drummer: Jimmy Chamberlin

Lead guitar: Randy Rhoads

Rhythm guitar: Tim Sult (Clutch)

Bass: Cliff Burton

Keyboards: Cevin Key (Skinny Puppy)

Keyboards/Vocals: Trent Reznor

I don't think you broke any rules. Heck, you can have six guitar players if you want! I just thought it would be more interesting if no two band members were from the same real band. That's really the only real rule, and the basic three piece as a minimum. :)

Rhythm guitar: Tim Sult (Clutch)

Bass: Cliff Burton

Keyboards: Cevin Key (Skinny Puppy)

Keyboards/Vocals : Trent Reznor

He can be the 2nd keyboard player. I somehow overlooked the operatic Patton and his incredible range. Let me edit my post.

Drums: Neil Peart
Bass: John Entwistle
Lead Guitar: Les Paul
Vocals: Freddie Mercury

Eclectic mix but I'd love to hear Freddie sing over Les Paul.
Hmmmm.. Excellent line up! it was a toss up between Freddie & Dio in my lineup. But, good call on your part.
