It's not really painful. The real problem is, depending upon what I eat before going to bed, I will wake up choking just as I start falling asleep. It then takes me forever to get to sleep again. That's extremely uncomfortable. I take Dexilant for the acid reflux.

I have the same issue. Red sauce of any kind it my kryptonite. I’ve managed it well by not eating after 7 and using this as my bed frame with the 4” rise.

If you haven’t already go see a GI doctor. I’ve also been on one a day Nexium 40mg for the last 10 years.

I've had this for years. I could have surgery, but the doctors say that the cure is usually worse than the disease in this case. I have a wedge pillow for those nights when I know it's going to be bad.
