hey guys just wondering why old 1st gen iPhones 8GB are going for $300 and new iPhone 3G 16GB new are $300? Why are people interested in the old iPhones? iam thinking about selling my 1st gen 8GB iPhone and getting the 16Gb 3G
Well there is currently no easy software unlock for the 3G iPhone which makes it unable to use on any other U.S. provider. T-Mobile, the other major GSM provider in the U.S. also lacks a real 3G network so the v1 iPhone is still popular as it is able to be unlocked and used on the T-Mobile network.
just checked the competition and other same iPhones are selling for $360 and $350 and another for $300. Mine also has a small dent on the top and few scratches iam thinking I should stick with my price ?
Mine was pristine ( a few light bezel scratches) sold it with a case, car charger and a couple of screen protectors and got $400.00. Considering the slight inperfections in yours $300.00 would be a score.
If you're still under warranty, see if you can get them to exchange the phone. They will accept something with light wear and tear, but if it's obvious that you've just gone tossing the thing into a wood chipper hoping to get a just-as-new phone, they'll look at you funny.
They put new case, screen, and glass on the phones when they refurbish them to provide service phones; so then you have one that's as good as new
I am going to hold on to mine until the 3g has something a little better to offer in the area of JB, unlock, etc...If i did sell mine on craigs or ebay i would be asking450-600. there are a few idiots out there that will pay 600 for it.
