Why would the App Store do this?

    Shouldn't they have held off releasing the app update?

    The issue wasn't discovered until it was already submitted to Apple and accepted. The dev then can only change the description until the next update is received and approved by Apple.

    It seems to me that the appropriate response would be to remove it from generating "update alert" on our iDevices then. My OCD about the app update alert badge is killing me. YMMV

    But, if you don't click the down arrow to see what the update is about, you won't see this. This is of course, if you have several apps to update.

    I updated before they knew about the problem. Mine is working fine.
