This is my first iPhone ever to get and I'm not happy with the fact that shortly after I bought it the iPhone 6 was announced to be released in 5 months.... I spent an arm and a leg as I got it without any carrier contracts (unlocked phone) and now my iPhone will seem like an old phone soon :(

Anyway, will the iPhone 5 get iOS 6 upgrade or not?

What will iOS 6 add to my iPhone? Anything special os is it just a number upgrade with nothing really substantial to take home?

The iPhone 5 ships with iOS 6 already installed. Seeing as how the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, and even the iPhone 3GS can run iOS 6, it's pretty safe to say the iPhone 5 will run iOS 7 and 8 and beyond.

As far as the next iPhone being released in five months, there has been no official announcement from Apple. Anything you've heard or read is simply a rumor at this point.

Yes, I can say with almost 100% certainty that it will. Apple typically supports iPhone hardware with iOS updates for at least three years.

You'll be able to upgrade your OS in the next update.

Absolutely, but some features won't work because the 5 will lack the 6's integrated hyperthreaded nuclear cravistat.

Next time a new phone comes out just sell your iPhone and it will pay for itself with a carrier upgrade discount. Yes you will be locked in but it's safe to say your next iPhone will be free. I have never paid out of pocket for a new iPhone, only time was for iPhone 1.

Sold my iPhone 4 and bought the 5 and made $30
