Hi All,

I have a Yahoo account, and want to setup iPhone to use the IMAP / push, but my account ends in @pacbell.net.

It LOOKS like I can't change the default @yahoo.com to @pacbell.net and I hate to use POP!

Anyone?

I'm sure that there's a lot of people in my boat...

- Thanks

I have a similar issue as I want to take advantage of the yahoo push email ability but don't want people to see that I am responding to their businesss email from my yahoo account. I asked yahoo this question and got this response:

Hello,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Mail.

With Yahoo! Mail you can send and receive from other email accounts,
besides your Yahoo! email address.

Receiving Mail:

You can receive messages from other accounts that have POP Access. An
account with POP access is one that you are able to access through an
external email client such as Outlook, Eudora, or Netscape Mail.

Sending Mail:

You can send messages using other email addresses in your Yahoo! Mail
account. On the Compose screen, you will have a "From" pull-down menu
located above the "To:" field. Choose an address that you wish to mail
from by selecting it from the pull-down menu.

Follow the instructions below to start sending and receiving from
different email addresses:

1. Click on "Mail Options" in the upper right hand corner of the page
2. Click on the "Mail Accounts" link under the "Management" column
3. Click on the "Add" button and follow the four steps below

Step 1: Enter in an "Account Name" and click on "Continue"
Step 2: Enter in the "From Name" and the email address that you want to
send or receive from
Step 3: This step is optional. Enter this information, if you wish to
receive messages from an account that has POP Access.

If you do not know the name and port number of your mail server, you
will need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or Network
Administrator for help obtaining this information. Your user name for
your External Mail account is the first part of your External Mail
address (before the "@" sign). Your password is whatever you use to
access your External Mail account, and not necessarily your Yahoo!
password.

Yahoo! Mail Support does not know and cannot provide you with the server
name, port number, user name, or password for your External Mail
account. For assistance obtaining this information, you will need to
contact your Internet Service Provider or Network Administrator.

Step 4: Before you can send messages, we need to verify your email
address. At this step, please click on the "Send Verification" button.
A verification email will be sent to your email address. Please follow
the directions in that email. Once the address is verified, you will be
able to send messages from that account.

Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Mail.

Regards,

Alton

Yahoo! Customer Care

It appears that with the iPhone there is no option given when replying to a Yahoo email to change the "from" option. This is only available within the Yahoo email program.

Mike, this is good info, but it doesn't answer my question...

I think I can go to "other" and then "imap" but I don't know what the incoming imap server name...
