I really hope to see some software for the iPhone that would put the spotlight on the success of the SDK and the early collaborators. That wouldn't take very long in the speech, and it would go a long way to show just HOW open and flexible Apple will allow the platform to be for developers...
So, pure speculation here, but what do we all think will be Steve Jobs' next big announcement regarding the iPhone? Will he even mention the iPhone in his keynote today, or will he limit his remarks to newer products/announcements?

You bring up a great point. Being SOLD something as new normally requires that it IS new. Being serviced under a warranty program for a new item often allows (under the terms and conditions of the warranty program) the vendor to replace a defective "NEW" product with a refurbished one.

Well, I've already updated, but nothing looks different on the surface. I figured someone out there who was a detail-oriented person might have already identified the minute changes to the interface.
I'll poke around the screens in mine and let you know if I see anything different...
I don't have one here at the office where I'm sitting, but has anyone tried a Mag-Lite or other strong flashlight to see if it shows up with a constant beam?

I have noticed the same thing. I searched for Chinese Food in my town, only to be cheated out of the three most popular dives. The pinpoints all hit the ones that nobody would be caught dead (or dying) in. Makes me wonder how good the Maps application is and whether the Google folks created...
