iPhone 6s How's the iPhone 6S battery holding up?

The 6s plus has a decently sized battery, and the power supply they ship with it only supplies 5w (1 amp) to the charger in the phone, so that 10.4 watt-hour battery takes a few hours to charge from that small power supply (especially if you're using the phone at the same time). If you have an...

iPhone 6s Apps gaining support for 3D Touch

I think it's a fair price, and I've bought Tweetbot a few times even though I don't use it regularly (and as iOS 9 trends toward direct app links, I imagine I'll trend toward the Twitter app itself more). This comes up every time they release a major new version. I am totally supportive of...

    iPhone 6s 3D Touch tricks

This is the case for the stock live wallpapers included with the phone. The pressure also determines how far along in the animation it goes. If you press hard right away, it goes to the "end" of the animation quickly. If you only press halfway, it goes to the halfway point. as you gradually...

iPhone 6s iPhone 6s Uses Different-Sized A9 Chips From Samsung and TSMC

AnandTech has weighed in on the situation. http://www.anandtech.com/show/9708/analyzing-apple-statement-for-tsmc-and-samsung-a9 They don't think there's been a large enough and controlled enough test to make any conclusions. That's what I was thinking and hoping. And I agree...it'd take...

iPhone 6s iPhone 6s Uses Different-Sized A9 Chips From Samsung and TSMC

It cuts out email fetch/push and forces auto lock to 30 seconds, both pretty annoying to me. I'll try it again and see if I can stand it. If I could use a custom low power mode that lets me pick what low power options to use, that'd be ideal. The low power menu on my HTC One lets me choose...

iPhone 6s IPhone 6s vs the rest

If by streaming and mirroring, you mean to a computer or a TV, then you can do this with AirPlay to an Apple TV or a compatible program on the computer (AirServer is my fave, there's also Reflector). You can use some screen recording software with those on your computer to get it streamed over...

iPhone 6s iPhone 6s Uses Different-Sized A9 Chips From Samsung and TSMC

Yeah, they posted a known issue about this being in the last few versions. They must have some kind of CPU keep alive bug that's keeping the processor cranking at full speed or something (I guess I'm really fortunate I don't have the Samsung A9!). That's the main reason that I haven't returned...

iPhone 6s iPhone 6s Uses Different-Sized A9 Chips From Samsung and TSMC

Dang. I know that's a 6s plus, instead of a 6s, and I know Downcast has a battery killer bug in it right now, but I'm dreaming of numbers like yours. (that's a pretty cool screenshot stitcher, btw, very handy!) I forgot to plug in on the way to work/at work, now I'm gonna have to plug in at...

I can understand the apprehension, though. Exchange it before running into the problem, for fear that the problem doesn't manifest itself until after the return/exchange period where it becomes a warranty/discretion thing That reminds me. I don't know if they had multiple suppliers for the iPad...

iPhone 6s iPhone 6s Uses Different-Sized A9 Chips From Samsung and TSMC

I still don't think these anecdotal impressions in the videos I've seen so far are very conclusive. iPhones sitting on the same wifi network downloading the same YouTube video could have a very different experience regardless of CPU fab, with one of them having to keep the radio active more due...

iPhone 6s iPhone 6s Uses Different-Sized A9 Chips From Samsung and TSMC

These things throttle very quickly and dramatically compared to previous iPhones, and there's already the variability between each result as it is, from background tasks taking up CPU time to minor drifts in frequency or missing the occasional RAM strobe and having to wait. Scores taken from...

How do I access files on iCloud?

That'll show any documents stored in iCloud Drive (for me all I see is keynote, pages, and numbers, and a couple of files I sneakernetted from computer to computer using iCloud Drive). iPhone 6s 6s and 6s Plus fare "surprisingly well" in waterproof test

The stats on replacements/repairs due to water damage must be pretty significant if they're putting in the engineering effort and manufacturing cost of extra sealing. Sounds like this guy got a lucky break though with his phones surviving an hour in the water. I saw the ringer switch go off on...

iPhone 6s AnandTech's Preliminary iPhone 6s and 6s Plus Results Are Out

They used one of my suggestions! I told them a while back, you guys need to put an SSD in the iPhone. Now if they'll use the one where I told them 120hz display, the phones'll be in pretty good shape. I've given up all hope of them taking my "moar battery" suggestions. :P I love AnandTech's...

iPhone 6s How's the iPhone 6S battery holding up?

Makes sense. The 6 plus has to drive 2-2.7x as many pixels (depending on whether it's doing 3x rendering and downsampling to 1920x1080, or rendering natively at 1920x1080), but they both got the same GPU, so it's only natural the 6 would perform better in on-screen graphics benchmarks. I don't...

Anyone use Downcast? I just noticed this little gem in their known issues list: "Battery consumption up in latest few releases Status: Confirmed Workaround: None Improved in v2.9.3 (Submitting soon)" I feel a whole hell of a lot better knowing that I'm not just going crazy. (I am going crazy...

iPhone 6s How's the iPhone 6S battery holding up?

The plot thickens. I don't know how I'll be able to tell whether it's a Sammy or a TSMC. As far as I know, if they're the same CPU design, just on a slightly smaller process, they should perform the same, but the 16 nm transistor processor may use more juice to do it.
