I'm thinking about dropping the cash on picking up the iPad 2, but the biggest turnoff (for me) was the lack of a high resolution display. For those of you that have them, do you recommend I pick one up now, or wait for an update next year?

I really do like that improved battery life/voice control though. It just feels that if I do buy it though, its for the sake of buying a new iPhone. What I'll probably do is save towards the 2 grand MBP

If there is a major announcement at all within the next 5 minutes, sure. Good solid upgrades, but a little disappointing as well. 100 dollar 8 gig is interesting though.

I thought updating would completely wipe out all data minus your own (music, etc), aka the "restore" effect, so I always figured it would be ok to update sans restoring.
