I just had something similar happen. I restored the phone and upgraded to 2.02 with no problems however, the process duplicated many of my contacts so I deleted all of them from outlook express then synced my phone--now all of my contacts are gone from both the phone and outlook express...

For one reason or another I have not upgraded my iphone--currently have version 1.1.3. Question--can I upgrade to the latest software version or will it be best to do it in steps?

Have not resolved as yet. I continue to delete all of the contacts from outlook express then sync. This only works if you do not add contacts to outlook express which I don't.

Don't know if it's a fluke or not. I turned off my WI-FI and could not update Weather on Edge--then I turned WI-FI back on and now both Stocks and Weather are working.

This is probably overly simplistic but I placed a label on the back of the iPhone (clear tape with black letters) saying "Call 123-456-7890 for reward". If you don't have a home phone you could use your work or a relative's phone number.

Have always left WiFi on with no battery problems--also learned early on to check my e-mail manually. As you suggested, I think Safari was the culprit (at least hope so) something must have been open. Thanks again.

Thanks, didn't know that you had to be connected to iTunes to charge the phone with the USB port--that explains why it wasn't charging. Anyway, went home to get both my car and A/C charger--happily, the phone is charging. Now, if I can only figure out why the phone completely discharged overnight.

I have been charging my phone for over two hours with the computer USB--not much change in the battery life indicator (still red--no green). How long should it take to charge up? Never used the USB for charging before.

I'm really annoyed--after updating to 1.1.1 all of my ringtones (the ones that came with the iPhone) were reverted to the "default" ringtone. I had to go through all of my contacts and change the ringtones back to the ones I wanted. Wondering if this will this happen each time I sync the iPhone?
