12 hours, still no activation

took me 5 minutes... but I did mine at 10pm at night and am an existing customer. all works well and I REALLY love tis phone

Here is what an ATT rep just told me on the phone after waiting on the phone for 1 hour!

AT&T has finished their part in the activation for my phone and now its the Apple that is backed up on things. Once they finish their process, then I will get an email with a link to finish up the activation.

don't know if this is the truth b/c I am still at the step that has to do with the processing of my credit card. Looks like ATT us just passing the buck!

just got off the phone with another guy...same story about taking 24 hours for porting my number from verizon, but he did say that the issue is still within ATT and not with iTunes at this time for me. Once they get the number transferred, I will get an email

What does the email do, cause I won't be getting one since somehow my email address was messed up in iTunes. I corrected it now, but when I told ATT about it they said no big deal, I don't need to click a email link to finish the activation. I keep hearing here on the forums that I do LOL so ......

i tried activating mine last night an its a new number but im adding it to my family plan an its still not activating been about 11 hours now this sucks....an its a new number not porting or anything why wont it work?!?!?

the guy i spoke to said that e is not sure, but there was mention of a link that will be in the email that will then restart the activation from where it was left off. don't know if it is true or not though!

Why did Apple or whoever only let the consumer buy/activate their phone after 6? Why set it at 6 for the entire country? isn't a overload of some sort bound to happen if you go this route

i waited for a while. then i just restarted the phone by turning it off then back on.. and POOF, it worked.. and then later on in the night i got the confirmation email... hope that helps

I agree. They should have sold them starting at the beginning of the day yesterday, IMO.
