Here is what an ATT rep just told me on the phone after waiting on the phone for 1 hour!mine took about 5 Min
16 god for saking hours of hell.i tried activating mine last night an its a new number but im adding it to my family plan an its still not activating been about 11 hours now this sucks....an its a new number not porting or anything why wont it work?!?!?
the guy i spoke to said that e is not sure, but there was mention of a link that will be in the email that will then restart the activation from where it was left off. don't know if it is true or not though!What does the email do, cause I won't be getting one since somehow my email address was messed up in iTunes. I corrected it now, but when I told ATT about it they said no big deal, I don't need to click a email link to finish the activation. I keep hearing here on the forums that I do LOL so ......

I agree. They should have sold them starting at the beginning of the day yesterday, IMO.Why did Apple or whoever only let the consumer buy/activate their phone after 6? Why set it at 6 for the entire country? isn't a overload of some sort bound to happen if you go this route
