don't bother what others have to say -- remember , it is YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY , and you need to be happy with your purchase...
Very very true. I hope that this new iPhone meets your expectations from this device.

However, you have to keep open to the fact that there are some things that could effect your battery life.

- Signal strength from AT&T
If your phone is constantly trying to boost the signal your battery life decreases.
- Turn off WiFi when you can
Big battery saver when you aren't using it.
- Turn the brightness down on your phone.
In the long term with usage, this helps a lot.

Of course, you may have great battery life now so you may not need to do these things.

Thanks for the advice, my brightness was at 15-20% and wifi has been off the past two days with no iPod usage. Seems this battery is better, the meter hasn't moved since i turned it on at 3:30pm on my other phone it would have moved already.

Brianlamar: Make sure with this phone you go through a few battery cycles for the phone to fully get it's charge over time. It take s a little times for Li-Ion batteries to get "broken in".

I understand that, but you didn't need to have a problem, its not your phone. I created this thread to ask for advice on top of my thoughts about this situation. I appreciate your concern but I know a phone is suppose to last an entire workday and if it doesn't then something is wrong. I'm coming from a BlackBerry and knowing that phone doesn't have nearly all of the features this phone has (actually it does, except for the touch screen and real web browsing), the iPhone should last at least half as long as its direct competition, the BlackBerry, which lasts at least 2 days of heavy use. I'm still using my BlackBerry along with this phone but I find it unnecessary to need to carry around a charger everywhere I go. That defeats the purpose of the battery in a phone.

In the end you just have to be happy with it which sounds like you are.

This problem is solved so I think it can be locked now.

UPDATE:

Just updating my experience with my new phone. I know have a substantially better battery life. I have used the new phone for 13 hrs standby and 4 1/2 hrs usage and 50% battery life remaining. The settings for the new phone are the same as the old one and the same usage. So my battery was faulty in the old one and it wasn't me being irrational, which was what I thought in the first place. Thank you all for your help I am a pleased iPhoner.

Hope this thread helps for anyone who has a battery like my faulty one.
